Welcome to Baumstammhaus, a charming corner of Germany nestled on Am Klingenweg 2 in Walluf. This German restaurant embodies the essence of hearty, home-cooked fare, making it an unmissable destination for locals and travelers alike. With its rustic ambiance, Baumstammhaus offers a dining experience infused with the warmth of traditional German hospitality.
The star of the show here is undoubtedly the schnitzel, which multiple patrons have praised as nothing short of phenomenal. Customers rave about the enormous portions that invite diners to savor every last bite. The menu is filled with authentic German dishes, but the focus on quality schnitzel has made it a local favorite. However, be aware that not all offerings shine as brightly; a few guests have mentioned less-than-stellar steak experiences. The consensus is clear: stick to the schnitzel for guaranteed satisfaction.
While the food is a primary focus, the ambiance at Baumstammhaus warrants mention as well. For those who enjoy al fresco dining, the outdoor seating offers a charming view and a rustic vibe. However, some reviewers have noted that the enclosed space can be marred by the smell of smoke from neighboring tables. Additionally, rainy days may pose a challenge, as leaks from the tents can dampen the experience, both literally and figuratively.
Service has garnered mixed reviews; though some have indicated a slower pace, others appreciate the friendly assistance that the staff provides. Expect to be welcomed with open arms, and don’t hesitate to inquire about their best dishes, as regulars recommend a little guidance in choosing from the generous menu.
One thing is for sure—if you plan to dine here, come with an appetite. The portions are large, often warranting sharing, and it's not uncommon for diners to leave with foil-wrapped leftovers—a practice that Baumstammhaus patrons embrace with glee. Just keep in mind that credit cards are not accepted, so bringing cash is essential.
In conclusion, Baumstammhaus is a delightful stop for anyone looking to experience genuine German cuisine in a friendly environment. Whether you're a local or a traveler, the schnitzel and rustic charm will surely make your visit memorable. Just remember to come hungry and ready to enjoy a feast!

4 Stars, because the Schnitzel and the Place are 5 Star. But the Steaks, at least ours, was not more than 3 stars.. It was not "soft", very hard to cut. If you look for a good steak, go for another place. Everything else is great!

We decided to sit outside, but the space is enclosed and the cigarettes from other tables were really disturbing. It was raining and the tents had leaks onto the seats. The food portions are ENORMOUS! We could've easily shared a dish. The restaurant doesn't accept credit cards.

Decided to stop here for dinner on a whim. We did not have reservations, but thankfully we were able to get a table when we got there. Probably because we are American and they know we eat fast! Service was great, and the food came out quickly. We had a huge portion of fries to share between the two of us, and the salad appetizer with house-made dressing was delicious. Definitely come here hungry! The schnitzel and the hack steak was fantastic and filling. Love the rustic vibe and outdoor seating too. Will be back!

An authentic "townie" place, no tourists (other than us, of course) in sight. The proprietor took our orders and steered us in the right direction for the best schnitzel we had during our time in Germany. The portions were HUGE and took home foil-wrapped leftovers that we enjoyed for breakfast the next day. I know that taking home leftover food is totally an American convention, but with servings this big they seemed accustomed to the request.

The Jager schnitzel was delicious! Enough to share one order unless you're really feeling hungry. Comes with fries We added a side salad (might want to request they go light on the dressing; I would've enjoyed half as much dressing on mine). Reservation is highly recommended because it's cozy (not a really large place). Log cabin with that rustic feel. The decorations are in character - rustic, woodsy, nature, outdoors.

Good service, delicious food, and large portions. You have to find a parking space, as there aren't many in front.

This is a very nice German restaurant specialized in Schnitzel. Beware of portions, they are huge! I'm pretty confident you would have the best Schnitzel from the area. The ambiance is nice. Their Andechs beer, made in a monastery, is awesome, served in a huge and heavy mug. A truly authentic experience, would recommend!
